The Wine Ritual is a free temperature timer. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies. This page lists everything that does leave your device, and why.

What stays on your device
The countdown you're running — wine style, start and target temperature, method and start time — is kept in your browser's local storage and in the page address, so a refresh or a closed tab doesn't lose it. It is deleted when you finish or cancel. It is never sent to us. The app also remembers whether you dismissed the "keep this tab open" notice.
Feedback you choose to send
If you tap Too cold, Just right or Too warm, or write in a feedback box, that answer is sent along with:
- the ritual's settings (wine style, temperatures, method, planned and actual minutes)
- the text you wrote, if any
- a timestamp, your browser language and a shortened browser description
It is used only to make the timing more accurate and to decide what to fix. Don't put your name or contact details in the text box unless you want a reply.
Feedback is delivered through Formspree, a form service based in the United States. Like any web request, it also receives your IP address. Feedback is kept for as long as this beta runs and deleted when it ends. You can ask for yours to be deleted at the contact above.
Visit counts
Visits are counted with GoatCounter, which uses no cookies and is not used to track you across sites. It records which screens of the app are opened, the page that referred you, and daily totals of browser type, screen size, language and country. It doesn't store your IP address. A handful of anonymous events are counted too, such as "a countdown started" or "the share button was used". It never records which wine you chose, any temperature, or anything you type.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.
Legal basis and your rights
Feedback is processed on the basis of legitimate interest in improving the tool, and only when you choose to send it. Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
Age
The Wine Ritual is meant for adults of legal drinking age.
